A Sovereign Plan

If the sovereign God has a plan for our life As described in Psalms 139 that says even before we were born the days were fashioned for me when yet there was none of them. So, if there is a plan created by God then it’s up to me to pray in such a way that the plan is carried out in my life. We are familiar with making plans and sometimes our plans are completed, sometimes we don’t get them done, or at least not the way we want them to be. And so, it is with the plan of God. If there is a plan created by God, then why should we send up prayers trying to get him to change that plan to do something special for us? Just know, to follow His plan takes effort and more than just sitting and meditating but with actual performing activities that are in accordance with his plan and his will. So, what do we do to follow this plan? First of all, we have to figure out how to tell what it is. And that involves some work and some effort on our part. Starting off by recognizing that yes, He is God, and he has a plan for us and no matter what or where it leads us He is in control. So, He’s given us some help to figure out how to live within His plan. And it all starts with recognizing that he is God, and we are just his sheep that need help walking on the right path. So how do we attempt to do this? First of all, you have to be in the Word every day, reading, meditating, looking for places where the word jumps out on you for that day and realizing that this is helping you in your walking in His plan. So, He has given us the ability to think, the ability to reason and he has given us wisdom which James says if we need wisdom to ask and he will give it to us. And we need knowledge that comes by studying the Word alone perhaps with the aid of a devotional document, in Bible study groups and in church services on Sunday. And we need discernment for as we study His Word and read his words Satan will attempt to enter our mind and our thoughts and divert us from the true meaning of the words so we have to continually fight against the forces of darkness and put on the whole armor and protect ourselves from the foils of the devil As the plan plays out in our life we will begin to recognize our gifts and as God gives us these gifts they are to be used not just to be thought about. And so, we asked for obedience and faithfulness in using our gifts as they are given to us, all with the purpose of glorifying and bringing glory to God.

In our prayer life we must be careful not to fall into the trap set by thinking that we can tell God what to do. His thoughts, his ways are so far above us there is no way we can comprehend what they are. It is imperative that we realize that God has a plan and if we obey him and give our life over to the Lord Jesus Christ then that plan will be carried out and we will be blessed because of it. But you must be born again to participate in the blessings that God has laid upon the path that He has for you.
